I am Legend: The movie review from somebody that isn’t crazy (No Spoiler)

So I went to the 11 o’clock showing of this movie on Friday December 15th with my wonderful girlfriend. First of all, I want everybody to know that this is ZOMBIE MOVIE. It seems to me that the previews didn’t get that across very well. At first I thought it was going to be about a war because the previews showed a destroyed city. But apparently I was wrong. This is one of the new age zombie movies. Original zombies were created by chemicals created by the government that would hide a side affect of turning the dead into the undead. Modern zombie movies such as that of the Resident Evil and 28 Days Later series replace the evil chemical with an infection. It is known with AIDS is still in existence, and that science has not answered the question of how to kill the virus. In all the years of its existence, we still cannot stop it. So this movie really plays on some of our biggest fears.

Continuing on the movie, Will Smith plays a strong and interesting character in which he believes himself to be the only person left in existance, but yet clings to the thought there are other survivors. The zombies in this movie are unique. You will have to see the movie to understand what I mean, but they do have an originality to them in how they act that no zombie movie has suggested. There is plenty of action in this movie. There are some very suspenseful scenes in this movie. The end of the movie happens fast and leaves you with a feeling of, “so……Happily ever after or end of civilization? What did this mean?”
